Zeke took a deep breath. It was hard to explain. This was his hiding place. No one else had seen it before. No one he trusted enough - no one he cared about enough. It had been a spontaneous decision. When he drove home from the hut last tuesday he had known it. Casey deserved more than this stupid hut. Casey needed to know what hid behind Zeke's shell.
"I wanted you to see this. This is what I am, Case! Here I feel at home. It always was like this. Since I was a child I preferred to be here rather than to be in the house.
Here I don't need to pretend anything what is not me. This is, why I never bring someone here. It's just me ... oh, wait, and Oscar, of course. Oscar is okay!"
Oscar? Casey thought hard if there was an Oscar at school. Maybe one of the juniors. But Zeke wouldn't date a junior, right? Or maybe Oscar was from Columbus. He knew, Zeke was going to Columbus almost every weekend. To meet Oscar?
Casey swallowed and tried to get rid of the disappointment which spread throughout him. The afternoon had been so thrilling. The ride in the GTO, the garage, the Scat ... Zeke had shown him a part of his life. It had felt as if it meant something. This mysterious Oscar brought back the reality.
'It's me ... and Oscar...'
He had never fooled himself. He knew, it was not a real relationship between him and Zeke. Probably there were other girls... and maybe other guys too. And Oscar! Oscar was someone special, Casey could feel this.
He heard Zeke chuckling.
"Hey, baby blue. You jealous?"
Casey jerked around and stared in Zeke's amused sparkling eyes. Once again he asked himself how this was possible. Zeke always seemed to be able to read his mind.
"Why should I be," he murmured and tried to sound firm.
"It's your garage. You can meet here whomever you want!"
Zeke moved closer to him and put his thumb onto Casey's lips.
"You're the only guy, baby blue!"
Casey swallowed. This sounded so gentle and honest. He just wished it would be true.
"Well, Oscar is a stupid name for a girl," he murmured.
Zeke laughed slightly and reached for his hand.
Casey followed him over to a shelf nearby a corner, covered from a big cupboard.
"Casey ... meet Oscar!"
Casey gasped for air. Whatever he had expected, definitely not this. Two big, red eyes were looking at him, a little nose was twitching up and down.
"Oscar is ... a pet?"
"Nope! A lab-rat!"
Casey held his finger a bit nearer to the cage. Oscar sniffed curiously. His whisker tickled. Casey giggled slightly.
"He is nice!"
"Hm! A stubborn little shit! Sneaked into my life last winter. One morning I found him on the steps. He just lay there and looked at me. He was wounded. He hardly breathed ..."
"And you saved his life!"
Zeke snorted briefly.
"Who am I? Dr. Doolittle? I did a shit. I went to school as ever and didn't waste a second thinking about him. When I came back in the afternoon, he was gone."
Casey swallowed. This was not the kind of story he had expected. His look fell back onto the cage and onto Oscar. He was here now! The story had to go on. Questioningly he looked at Zeke.
"A few days later I came here before school, to get some stuff together and when I walked in he was there. He was sitting right on the table, eating my biscuits. I've no idea how he managed it to come in here. I've no idea how he could survive. But he did ..."
"And you let him stay!"
"He didn't give me another choice. I tried to maroon him several times. Next morning he always was back again."
"Smart, little guy. I'm sure, he felt it!"
"He felt what?"
"That you guys are good for each other. He needed you to survive and you need someone around here."
Zeke rolled his eyes.
"Geez, Case, it's a just fucking rat!"
Casey made a face and took a deep breath.
"Why the hell are you doing this, Zeke?"
Zeke looked at him surprised.
"Why do you always act like a fucking prick? You are not! You fucking care! Rats are intelligent and empathetic. There is a reason that he wants to stay with you. You like him! And he can feel this. And it doesn't matter, if you can fucking admit it or not! You do!"
Zeke kept quiet for a moment. Never before he had seen Casey like that. He looked tense. His fists were clenched. His eyes were sparkling furiously. His lower lip was trembling a bit. Wow ... Zeke felt his mouth turning dry. He couldn't resist. He had to pull him into his arms and to kiss him.
Casey struggled against him. Finally he could escape Zeke's greedy lips.
"Fuck, Zeke," he gasped.
"Don't you dare it! I'm mad at you!"
Zeke giggled. This boy was agile like a fucking snake, but Zeke was stronger. Casey squirmed in his arms, but he held him close and tight.
"Hmm," he murmured.
"You know how fucking hot you are when you're mad?"
"Oh, stop it, Zeke! Stop - it - now! I'm not in the mood!"
"Sorry, baby blue!"
Zeke grinned and picked him up. Casey stiffened.
"Zeke! Zeke! Get off my back!"
Zeke finally forced him down onto the big couch and straddled over him. He could feel Casey's shaft going hard, though he still tried to fend off him. It was just a halfhearted try, Zeke could tell this, when he started to unbutton Casey's shirt.
Casey reared up, but Zeke held him down with just one hand, while the other sneaked under the fabric, searching for one of his nipples, to tease, to stroke, to squeeze a bit.
"I take it back," Casey wheezed.
"You are a fucking prick! Stop it, Zeke! ... Urg ... Geez!"
Zeke could see his eyes going bigger, his breath deepened, he started to make those cute noises, Zeke loved to hear. He smiled. Yes, he knew him. He knew what Casey wanted.
He bent forward to kiss him again.
"Like this, baby blue?"
"You better do!"
Casey narrowed his eyes and looked at him suspicious. Zeke grinned devilish.
"You know, I don't need drugs if I wanna fuck you! Because you will beg me for it!"
