I've never written a haiku before because it always felt strange for me to write this way. (A haiku at its most basic is a composition of three lines, where the first and third lines have five syllables and the second seven syllables.) Today, though, there was this challenge at fic_promptly = it's a comment_fic community at Dreamwidth and I thought maybe I could give it a try.
Here is the result. Not sure if I've done it right and if you can call this a real Haiku, but I actually like it.
Title: Lost
Fandom: The Walking Dead
Character: Daryl Dixon
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 74
Challenge: Haiku - Any, Any, love in a dark time
Disclaimer: Of course, I don't own The Walking Dead nor the character :( - I'm just borrowing them for a while
He had never said:
'I love you' and he never would
get a chance again.
Much too afraid of
this new and scary feeling
he had denied it.
Had avoided it
to be together with her.
To enjoy her smile
her voice, her gestures.
Green-brown eyes, so beautiful.
Lips so warm and soft.
Daryl swallowed hard,
couldn't fight his tears for longer.
The angel was gone.
All she left behind
was a huge, dark emptiness.
He was lost forever.
