"So, Mr. Tyler, how are you doing today?"

Zeke looked at the young, always good-humored doctor, feeling moody. It was much too early in the morning and he would have loved to sleep a bit longer. There was not much he could do but to sleep and to think about his life which was out of his control in the moment. But as soon as he could leave this damned hospital he would move on. It was a tough step but it needed to be done.

First of all he would have to clear our his garage. He refused to think much about this. He would do what needed to be done without getting sentimental. Even before he had to deal with hard times and he would survive this too.

He would have to look for a job. Luckily he was a really good mechanic. And there were some big repair center in town. So he would be able to find a new job soon enough, at least he hoped so. A regularly paid job with planned working hours, with vacation and holidays. No phone-calls late in the night anymore. No beer around closing time with his last customer. No flirting with this pretty student who begged him with flattering eyelashes to help her out once again though she was short of cash. It would never be the same but he would have to learn to live with it.

And he would have to look for a small apartment. Maybe ... together with Casey?! They hadn't talked about it yet but he thought often about it lately. Being together with Casey felt good. Everything was still so new ... but so familiar at the same time. He had already lived together with him for longer than he ever had done with someone else before. Some time ago he had decided that he was just not made for a serious relationship. As soon as the first passion was gone he always started to feel bored and hemmed in.

With Casey it felt different. He was a friend, a confidant. And soon enough he would be his lover. Aside that one night before Casey went to Akron they hadn't done much more than kissing and a bit cuddling now and then. This would come to an end soon. The night after he would leave the hospital ...

He would make love with Casey. Love! This word had always made him want to run away as quick as possible. Not with Casey. It would be like a first time. Never before he had thought about it to be together with a guy. But he already knew what he wanted to do with him. This would be more than just sex. He would take his time to explore his body. He would kiss him, caress him, tease him. He wanted to hear him giggle, laugh, moan, cry. And finally he would fu ...

"Mr. Tyler? What do you say?"

"Ähm ... what?"
He stared at the doctor and felt how he became red. Holy shit! Since when did he behave like an idiot?

"Did you listen to me? I've just tried to show up the risks. Even if you are strong enough to leave the hospital, you will still have to take it slow for the next few weeks. I know, it's difficult because you run an own garage. But if you overdo it you will be back again here faster than you would like it. Your friend, Casey, will he able to help you out a bit over the next few days?"

Zeke blinked surprised.
"I can go home?"

The doctor smiled.
"I think so. You are fine. Just, like I said, take it somewhat slow. You will still need a lot of rest."

Zeke grinned.
"I'm sure, Casey can't wait to put me to bed and to play my nurse."

"That's fine," the doctor smiled and stretched out his hand.
"So, Mr. Tyler, I don't want to see you here again anytime soon. Good luck for you."

Zeke took the hand to shake it.
"Thanks, doc!"

Mary Ann, the nurse, watched Zeke stuffing all his things into his backpack, a few clothes, the portable cd-player, two books ...
"You know, we will miss you!"

"Me ... or Casey's muffin," grinned Zeke.

"Both, I guess."
Mary Ann laughed.
"Did you already call him? He will be happy to have you back home again. I guess it was a difficult time for you two."

"Not as bad as expected."
Zeke shrugged.
"And no, I didn't call him. It's gonna be a surprise. But you could do me a favor. Would you call 'John's Cab Service'? He is a friend of me!"

Only half an hour later he tossed his backpack into the back of the cab and took place onto the passenger seat. Still a strange feeling. He was glad that he would have back his GTO soon.

"Would you mind me to smoke," was his first question after a short 'Hello'.

"Go ahead. Just open the window, okay?"
The cabby - John, the owner of the company and his friend - grinned.
"You need it, huh?"

"Fuck, yeah!"
Zeke leaned back into the seat and lit a cigarette.
"This bitch of a nurse wanted to confiscate my cigarettes when she caught me smoking at the window."

John laughed.
"I'm sure you're glad to get home. Missed the garage too, huh? Can't wait to go back to work!"

Zeke's face darkened for a moment. No, he didn't want to talk about this, not now. John would notice it early enough that the garage wouldn't be opened any more.

"Well, it will still be a while before I can work at full force again," he murmured vague and closed his eyes. He tried to imagine Casey's surprised face when he would leave the cab. Much more pleasant thoughts.

But John didn't seem to notice that he wasn't very talkative in the moment.
"You know, you are lucky to have this boy in the garage to help you out. First I was a bit surprised that you let him do all this alone, but he did a really good job. The inspections of all my cabs were ready within three days."

Huh? Zeke frowned. What the hell was he talking about? A boy in his garage? Good job? Inspections? The only guy in his garage was ... Casey. And he surely had no clue about cars!

TBC soon (at least I hope so ;) )
